These measures can often prevent the need for costly repairs before problems even arise.

Each four-wheel drive system has three main parts: the front and rear differentials, and the transfer case. At EconoLube, we provide specialized service to keep all of these components running smoothly.
The lubricating fluid in the transfer case and differentials deteriorates over time, giving way for heat, friction and pressure and premature wear that can result in failure and costly repair. Our EconoLube technicians can remove the old lubricating fluid and add new, high-quality fluid according to the owner’s manual guidelines.
EconoLube recommends servicing your vehicle’s drivetrain according to manufacturer’s recommendations. If the differential fluid was contaminated by water or some other severe circumstance occurred, the differential fluid should be changed sooner to prevent damage to the vehicle.

Periodic tire rotation prevents uneven wear and will keep your vehicle on the road longer. Our EconoLube technicians recommend servicing your tires at the intervals suggested by your manufacturer as well as routine checks for signs of irregular wear. This ensures that the tires wear down evenly, maintaining the tread grip and traction that provides more stability on the road. Even distribution of tire wear extends the life of your tires as well as increasing your gas mileage and improving car handling.
Our EconoLube technicians will inspect your vehicle for signs of improper inflation or tire pressure, wheel misalignment, and uneven wear so you can get back on the road as fast and safely as possible.

Power steering fluid is an essential lubricant that needs to be maintained and serviced at regular intervals. Over time, the additives in power steering fluid deteriorate. When this happens, the system does not operate optimally, resulting in stiffness and leaks, and system failure may occur.
During a power steering fluid flush, our EconoLube technician will check your vehicle’s power steering fluid and determine whether it needs to be replaced. If it does need to be replaced, the technician will run a cleaner through the power steering system to clean up the sludge and varnish build-up. The old power steering fluid is flushed, the system is cleaned using a specialized cleaner and filled with new power steering fluid.
We recommend changing your power steering fluid in accordance with your manufacturer’s recommendations. If no recommendation is given in the owner’s manual, most fluid manufacturers recommend a power steering flush once every 80-100,000Km. It is also a good idea to do a power steering fluid flush at the same time as an engine coolant flush in order to ensure that it is done with regularity.

EconoLube provides transmission services to keep your vehicle running smoothly. Whether your vehicle has an automatic or manual transmission, we can help keep your vehicle running smoothly. The serpentine drive belt winds its way through your engine compartment and drives power to major engine components, like the alternator, power steering pump, air conditioner compressor and water pump. Regular wear can cause missing chunks, dry rot or excessive cracking, and therefore the serpentine belt must be replaced periodically.
If left too long, the belt will break and the vehicle will stop running and may even cause the engine to overheat. Your EconoLube technician will check the serpentine belt on your vehicle during every full service oil change. If it needs replacement, our technician will install a new one upon your approval.

Detect battery problems before they happen and make sure your car starts when you need it most. Our EconoLube technician will test the battery and charging system components using a battery tester. If the battery is weak or does not pass the test at all, our technician can install a high quality battery with a great warranty.

A cabin air filter catches airborne contaminants such as dust, dirt, pollen, mould and other particles as small as 1 micron. When the filter is clogged, not only does it result in contaminated air flow but it also affects the ability to defrost the windows in the winter. A dirty and ineffective filter can also put pressure on the vehicle’s blower motor which could result in malfunction.
Our EconoLube technician will inspect your cabin air filter to ensure it is not dirty or clogged and that air is flowing properly into the passenger cabin of the vehicle. If a new cabin air filter is needed, we will install it for you on your approval.

Help prolong your engine’s life with clean engine air. The air filter in your vehicle keeps contaminants like dirt and dust from getting into the engine’s moving parts, helping your vehicle to burn fuel efficiently and keeping the engine working at its best. If the air filter is clogged, it can no longer do its job effectively, and your vehicle will use more fuel to make up for the lack of air flow through the dirty filter, as well as decrease engine power.
Our EconoLube technician removes and inspects the engine air filter. If it needs to be replaced, and with your approval, we install a new, clean engine air filter to capture dirt and debris.

A radiator cap that does not hold the proper pressure will cause leaks to occur and your vehicle could possibly overheat, resulting in costly repairs. Our EconoLube technicians will pressure-test your radiator cap during your full service oil change. If the radiator cap does not comply with the manufacturer’s operating specifications, our technician will suggest a cap that does meet the requirements and replace it for you upon your approval.

With Alberta’s extreme temperature swings, it’s important to protect your vehicle’s vital components. If your vehicle’s cooling system is not working optimally, broad temperature changes can potentially cause great harm to the expensive internal components of your engine and heating system, which can result in costly repairs. A cooling system service will protect the inner components of your engine system protected, keeping you on the road.
During every full-service oil change, our EconoLube technicians check the acidity of your coolant and let you know if your cooling system requires service. If your vehicle requires a cooling system service, we will run a cleaner through the cooling system to clean out the build-up of corrosion. This cleaner will run through the entire engine system – radiator, heater core and hoses – to ensure that the system has been well cleaned. We then flush a new antifreeze and water mixture throughout the entire system, and check the radiator hoses and radiator cap to ensure proper pressure is being held.

Your vehicle’s fuel system needs to be kept clean to keep your vehicle running at its peak. Every time a driver depresses the gas pedal, a calculated mixture of air is released and mixed with a calculated amount of fuel released by the vehicle’s computer. These elements are pulled into the combustion chamber inside the engine cylinder, where the spark plug ignites the mixture, creating the combustion that powers the vehicle. When a fuel system is dirty, fuel economy and engine performance decrease.
During the fuel system cleaning service, our EconoLube technician uses multi-step cleaners to remove fuel varnish build-up and intake valve deposits, help reduce deposits on the cylinder heads and clean the fuel injector system.

Your wipers should work when you need them to. Malfunctioning windshield wiper blades can put you in an unsafe position when you need them most. Each time you visit us for an oil change, our EconoLube technicians will visually inspect your wiper blades. We can remove the old ones for you and replace them with new wiper blades, as well as lubricate the wiper arm hinges so that your wipers maintain a consistent pressure on the windshield and effectively clean your windshield and give you a clear, safe view of the road ahead.
